Education
Congolese education system has suffered many challenges such as lack of
effective infrastructures, ageing teaching staff caused by high teacher turnover, lack of in-service training, the demotivation of teaching staff, Inadequate school infrastructure and a lack of teaching materials.
Bandundu Minority Association foster projects that constitute intellectual remittance:
Building and rehabilitating school infrastructure to the appropriate standards, and equipping schools with furniture (Implementing vocational training school)
Providing teaching materials so that schools have the tools they need to make learning interesting and engaging
Training teachers in modern teaching techniques, with a particular focus on the five reading skills
Encourage diaspora academics to volunteer in remote teaching, sesonal teaching,( STEM) contributing in students' researches
Encouraging partnership with local government for effective Diapora-policies harnessing diaspora academics and study best way to innovate the education system
Mentorship and scholarship implementation specifically for STEM program
Studies show that many of the current diaspora engagement programmes are funded by donors. This isn’t sustainable in the long run.
Comparative studies of China, India and Germany show these countries are increasingly tapping into their diaspora populations to boost research capacity and visibility. China and Germany offer incentives to their top diaspora researchers to return home.( Beth Daley, "How Africa’s academic diaspora can help revive higher education back home," 2020)
